How does segmental body composition analysis work?
BodyFit uses advanced multi-frequency BIS technology. Low-intensity electrical currents travel through your body via the platform electrodes and the handle. The way these currents move through your tissues allows BodyFit to estimate fat and muscle mass across each body segment — trunk, arms, and legs. Multiple frequencies also help distinguish between intracellular and extracellular water, making the results significantly more accurate.
Why do I need to hold the handle during measurements?
The handle is what makes segmental analysis possible. When you hold it, the electrical current travels through your entire body — arms and torso included — giving BodyFit the data it needs to analyze each segment individually: right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, and trunk. Without the handle, that full-body picture simply isn't possible.
Can multiple people use BodyFit?
Absolutely. BodyFit automatically recognizes up to 8 different users, each with their own profile and personal data in the Withings App. No manual switching needed.
