The Steel HR’s case is chunky, but the watch is comfortable to wear (a LOT more comfortable than most smartwatches that I’ve reviewed) due to the comfy silicone wristband that has an actual buckle instead of an annoying tab and slot style wrist strap.

This is a health tracker watch I was actually happy to wear, simply because it looks great.
A stylish activity tracker watch that might actually make you want to exercise!
I love the grey silicone strap I’m wearing because it’s waterproof (up to 50m) and looks sophisticated.
A classy hybrid watch with just enough smarts
Normally I’d be getting quite agitated by now. I’m relaxed because I last charged the watch at least a fortnight ago, so I’m confident it’s not going to run down on me for a while yet.
The Withings Steel HR is the best smart analog watch you can buy, hands down.
I've been happy with the Withings HR that I've had for a while now. It does what I want and it's nice to have an actual watch on my wrist. The fact that it lasts almost a month between charges and functionality degrades gracefully when the battery gets really low is a nice bonus.
Unless you’re someone who hates having anything on their wrist in bed, the Steel HR Sport’s slim physique makes it comfortable to wear to sleep.
My new Withings watch only needs charged every 25 days. I'd recommend it.
I couldn’t be happier with it and I haven’t taken it off since I’m back from holiday, only to charge it.
I have the Sport HR and I love it. I'm all in with Withings
Just got my Withings. One charge for almost a month. Love it.
Gotta say, that’s what I love my Withings watch for.. 25 day battery life
I actually did play a badminton session (before the whole COVID-19) using the Steel HR Sport and the watch picked my sessions up really well.
My wife bought a Withings hybrid smart watch, which has a watch with actual hands as well as the various smart functions. She’s very happy with it. Not too big and and the battery life is extraordinary.
If it fits you’re style, there are a few really nice hybrid smart watches with physical analog minute/hour hands. I’ve got a Withings and I love it for activity tracking, notifications, sleep tracking
The best fitness trackers for recording your exercise, heart rate and sleep.
YES! Withings. I love mine, it's affordable, looks cool, it's waterproof, does all of that stuff.
I have a Withings, I love that it just looks like an analogue watch rather than a fitness tracker.
I love my Steel HR hydrid fitness tracker watch. I wanted to get better insights on my daily activity but I don't like the look of the regular fitness trackers and I didn't want a whole computer on my arm. This is exactly what I wanted - a watch that does more than tell time, but no one knows it!
I purchased Steel HR after referring to many youtube and web reviews. In general, my idea is to have a typical watch with the facility to see notification the watch. Sleep tracking was an additional feature to me. I am really satisfied about the device, it look and feel, build quality and the functionality. I wish I had an option to get steel hr directly with a leather strap than a silicon one.
Very good watch to get notifications and check those in meetings etc. Good tool to monitor overall activity, sleep etc. In hard endurance sport, it loses HR (Cross country skiing, swimming). Battery life is very long. The class gets scratched in everyday life in 3 years. I am still going to buy a new Withings one day, it is like a normal discreet watch, with hidden extras.
The watch is great and compared to others on the market it is much better designed. It looks great and can be worn with different straps to suit any occasion.
My HR Steel watch provides a stylish looking timepiece with integrated Smart IoT technology to help me keep healthy in an ever demanding world.
I own the watch for a couple of months know and I love it. The small discrete screen provides just enough information for your notifications. It looks like a normal watch and is light and comfortable to wear. But the amount of information that is being tracked is amazing. Sleep patterns heart rate, steps. It is especially the way the app is displaying all this information is really nice and useful. However this is not the watch for people that want to use apps on their wrists.
Love this watch it measures everything and more. It has a classic nice look than others on the market. All levels of watches Withing sells are beautiful. Very easy to find a watch that fits you.
I am satisfied with the product, but the GPS doesn't work well. If I make a walk only a part of the track is shown. In most cases only the first five ten minutes. All the other functions are great.
I’ve had the watch and am very happy with it so far. Battery life has been excellent as advertised. Sleep and step tracking work very well. Has just the right level of notifications, without being a constant distraction that turns into a time sink. Overall, would highly recommend this watch!
I got the steel as "Merry Christmas to me". I loved the look and the functionality. The step tracking is stingy, but I like that it makes me work a little harder. I think my previous tracker over-estimated my steps. I have been having difficulty with the activity tracking, but customer support has been very helpful. It seems like it is working as designed now. The app is great. All my data in one place. So far I am satisfied with the Steel HR. It sure looks a lot better than other trackers!!
This is arguably the best looking smartwatch out there. The battery holds enough charge for at least 3 weeks of normal usage, which is unprecedented. The app feels intuitive, and I've met no hickups during workout sessions. Counts my swimming strokes as well.
Overall I am very happy with this watch! It is exactly what I was looking for in terms of having an every day watch the I could work out in but also look stylish. Overall I give is a 4.5 out of 5. The only issue is the calorie count during work outs. I find it is extremely off. I don't really care though because I do not pay attention to calories.
Withings are absolutely the best smart watches , even in the comparison with significantly more expensive products. I already have a third watches in the last couple of years! Perfect battery life of 20-30 days, fast data updates, clear Apps data transfer. I travel a lot, so it is perfect the data update with my iPhone X max (time, deadlines, ..), at the meeting I appreciate the possibility of switching off the phone and stilI see SMS, emails, messages, .... I highly recommend.
The Withings Steel HR Sport was the 3rd Withings health gadget I have tested over the past six years. Withings gets many things right with this HR Sport model. I enjoyed the look, feel, 🔋 battery life, sleep tracking, and the ease of daily use. It was such a nice treat to go over a week without charging...
I really love Withings products, they do what they need to do but they are also very elegant and good looking and integrate extremely well with very useful software solutions.
I love my Steel Hr Sport watch. It has a crisp clean look way better than the competitors. Ease of setup and use are a plus. If you get stuck customer support is fantastic. What a great all around company and product.
My HR was a Birthday gift from the Hubby & what a great choice, after my FitBit 2 died I tried their latest version which was awful. Knowing my hubby had the HR & how good it was I though I would try it. Love it, easy to download the Health Mate App, easy to follow & install my HR. I got the Raspberry coloured strap as an additional purchase, this is a lovely colour. I have a small wrist & was worried this maybe too large, I need not have worried as it looks great & is comfortable to wear.I like the extended battery life, 1 charge in 26 days :-). The waterproof feature is good so if it gets splashed or plunged into water there is no problem. Calculates steps very accurately & sleep pattern. The App dashboard is easy to navigate once you have used it a few times. If you are dithering over purchasing...don't...just buy it & see for yourself. Happy Happy.
I had previously used the Activité Pop but I liked the idea of the heart rate monitor and phone notifications. The design of the watch is great it looks smart and is a good fit on a women’s wrist (I have the smaller dial). I like the preprogrammed sports so it’s easy to scroll to your favourite. The battery life is great and it’s waterproof. This is a great watch for someone who wants to be able to track steps and fitness and enjoy classic understated design.
I wanted a watch that still had the old fashioned look with current technology. I did a Google search of what I wanted to see in a watch and Withings appeared in the top spots with excellent reviews. The style, app, and durability is exactly what I wanted! I live in the USA and received my item within a good amount of time! I have already recommended this company and this watch to friends to family!
Excellent watch. Looks very smart, would wear it with a shirt /suit and has a very long battery life; I've charged it once since I starting using it over a month ago and still has 25% battery left. Having interchangeable straps means I can wear the same watch when working out, at work and at business meetings.
I am a smart watch fan I have had a lot of them from cheap to very expensive, this by far has been my favourite, long long battery life, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking and did I mention unbelievable battery life, it's minimalistic but I find it better for me, it's not going to be for everyone but I do recommend it.
Great look and battery life, easy to use app, eaterproof, had 3 fitbits before, this is better, long battery life
Great watch and app. I particularly like the way you can add comments and see trends in the app. The watch has a good battery life and charges very quickly. I also like the notifications when paired with your phone. The strap is comfortable and I like the fact it looks like a watch not a fitness tracker.
Best tracking watch ever, simple and easy to use when I work and exercise, I wear it all the time even to sleep and I recommend it a 100%
It is a beautiful looking watch - many comments have been passed on how appealing it is visually. It also has the requirements I need. Mainly heart rate and distance covered daily.
By far and away the best fitness/smart watch I've ever had. very useful and interesting to see how my sleep patterns affect me. love the stylish look of the watch overall, and unobtrusive way it lets me know when notifications come through.
I was looking for a HR monitor that was sleek enough to wear all day long but didn’t bother me with too many notification or beeps. I love the look of the watch and that I can adjust how much it does. The face is simple and sleek and I’ve customized it so it really only shows what’s necessary (just like I was able to with my Withings scale). I love the app as well. It’s easy to track a varied of workouts, the GPS works great but it’s important to check that it’s connected before you start your runs/walks. Lastly you cannot beat this battery life. It has everything I was looking for and set up was easy too. I can’t say enough good things about this watch!
classical elegance & edge technology = the best combination for executive level managers or over 50 academics. Good job Withings !!!
I love this watch. I spent perhaps an obsessive amount of time researching fitness watches, and understanding both what I really wanted from a watch, and what the marketplace was offering. I came across the Steel HR on a whim, and even though I'd never heard of the company, took a chance...and am so glad I did. For starters, the watch is gorgeous. People comment on it all the time as a watch, which is great. I love that it's decidedly not trying to look like a fitness tracker. Everyone from hip 20-somethings to cute old men have complimented it.And the longevity has not disappointed. I tried a Fitbit, and besides thinking "This is hideous" every time I moved my hand, I also was annoyed by the three day charing situation. I've had the Steel HR for over 45 days, and only charged it once. Finally, I love the simplicity of the fitness tracking. I don't need a lot of info—I was mostly interested in heart rate, steps, and sleep, and this watch tracks them all well. There are other features, but I turned them off (e.g. smartphone notifications) or don't use them. I have told anyone who will listen just how much I love this watch.
A good looking smart fitness watch. I wanted something to track my HR and steps but not look unprofessional or gimmicky. Long battery life and simple interface, easy to set up. Now got the scale and looking into getting some of the other devices. Very impressed and happy.
My wife has a Fit Bit and she is happy with it. I think it is ugly too bulky and just to big to wear on my arm. The Withings steel HR does everything a Fit Bit does in a package that replaces my plain wristwatch. Luv it. Battery life 3 weeks. Luv it. Phone call notification and message scrolling. Also great.Luv it. Recommended highly.
I got the Withings steel hr as I liked the design and I wanted track my steps and also my sleep. In reality, it looks very stylish, the app is extremely good and it has helped me to increase my steps. I love it!
I love my witthings watch because it has super long battery life compared to other smartwatches. It's easy to use and is comfortable on the wrist.
Very nice quality product would be made better with I improved customer service via phone.
I have found my Withings Steel HR Hybrid Smartwatch - Activity, Sleep, Fitness and Heart Rate Tracker with Connected GPS to be quite accurate. The Healthmate App to go with it has great features, and is really informative with a history guide as to what you have achieved. It is attractive and comfortable to wear.
This watch has been very nice to help me with my goals. Without looking like a smart watch. Also the battery life has been amazing it is one reason why I didn’t want an Apple Watch because it was just one more thing to charge every day. With this, every 3 to 4 weeks I have to charge it but that is very acceptable. Great design and great function.
I hesitated getting another watch/tracker after my last one from another company, but the design and reviews on the Withings convinced to go for it. I am extremely happy with both the look and efficiency of this watch. Planning to purchase additional bands as the ease of switching them is a plus and they are super stylish. I highly recommend the Withings Steel HR. It is smart, stylish, durable and intuitive.
I am in love with the HR Steel. It is the most comfortable watch I have worn. I love the analog time, like a traditional watch, but I also love the push of a button when it's dark and read the digital time. Thanks for a great watch. I would love also to own the scanwatch when it is available.
I really like the long battery life of the watch. Mine has been going far longer than the stated time. I'm on day 33 now. I didn't want a fitness tracker so this suits me much better as it looks like a normal watch.
Looks are very appealing on this watch. Love that the whole casing is rose gold, not just the face itself meaning that when I change the band, it will all be one colour. The watch face is a good size, and not bulky at all. Band feels very nice to the touch and I barely notice that I'm wearing it. Has most of the notifications that I want/need. Love that it is not a touch screen! So easy to use the button on the side, and not have it accidentally going through the menu when bumped. Very happy with my upgrade from Garmin Vivosmart HR!
I bought my white Steel Sport HR two months ago and I haven't take it off ever since. Only to charge it of course, which in four months was like 7 times maybe. Everything from its aesthetics to its tracking is absolutely great. I'm very happy of having bout this product. I recommend it at 100%.
Picked the Steel HR because I wanted a watch that I could wear 24/7 as a heart rate monitor and didn't want to worry about charging daily. After a month so far, I'm super satisfied with the balance of battery life (only had to charge once) and all the health tracking features. Paired with the smart scale, I'm pretty impressed so far by the Withings ecosystem.
There are many health watches on the market. Some are clunky, some are overblown with features, some are my hype than substance, some are ugly. The Withings watch is light, elegant, versatile, simple, and feature-rich. It looks and works like a fine watch; it functions and lives as a health monitor. Great battery life, easy to use, simple interface, efficient heart monitoring, and accurate exercise records. What more do you want? Oh. I forgot. Very reasonable price. It does for your health what watches used to do for your life, but better.
Thank you for giving me a smartwatch with classical look and Swiss construction I'm not ashamed to wear around Maytag and Milnor engineers. Each one of them has at least 20 years in tech industry and a few of them wear Withings and Nokia watches. Thank you for keeping smartwatches with real hour and minute hands.
As I just turned 70 and wanting to keep active I find this watch helps me do just that. And not being at all techyI find it easy to get around on and access my weekly achievements and goals.
Best watch ever.
I work in a place with restrictions on tech you can take into work but still wanted to track my health activity. I had bought Withings body analysis scales and they were excellent. It prompted me to look at what other products they made and I found the steel hr watch. Firstly it’s battery life is incredible. It looks smart! It’s so easy to set up and it does everything it promises. I changed the silicone strap it came with and even the quick release strap design is easy to use and well designed. I have bought further Withings products since and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. First class and worth every penny.
I bought this watch based on recommendations from a few friends. The battery life is excellent, if you are doing a lot of activities with the heart rate monitor functioning continuously during the activity the battery life will reduce from the claimed 25 days, but it will still last many days between a charge. I also like that this appears as a watch first and foremost with fitness and messages being dealt with more discreetly, although easy to access and customise. It's not as comprehensive as say a Galaxy Watch, but it's not as intrusive into your life either, plus you won't need to be charging it every 2 days. It is one of the best modern devices I have used with a good balance between form, function and battery life.
This is a delightful piece of wrist wear. Appealing to the eye, with an easy to read face. The digital readings can be quickly accessed for time, date, heart rate, steps and calorie burning. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
Fantastic piece of tech! Battery life is amazing - will last me 4 weeks usually, looks sleek and elegant. Integrates seamlessly with the Health App to give you all your stats you'll ever need. Only issue I have ever had really is the front glass shattering after falling to the floor - unfortunately not something that is repairable. Despite that it is the only watch I would be seen with!
The watch is excellent. It combines the utility of a fitness tracker with the aesthetic of an analog watch. However, the glass is prone to scratches, thus ruining the aesthetic appeal of the watch. I suggest purchasing a protective screen to cover the watch face so the watch will look just as gorgeous a few years from now as it does the day you take it out of the box.
I’m very satisfied with my watch. Especially I love the looks of it, very classic and stylish design compared to other watches I researched while deciding which one to get. Also, the battery life is outstanding!
I get compliments on my watch all the time. This is my third watch from Withings. Each watch is better than the last. I love going for weeks on a single charge. My friends with the Apple watch moan when I tell them. The cost is the most reasonable than other similar watches.
Overall, I like my Steel HR. I would have loved it if it had the real-time BP monitor.
This was a nice upgrade from the Apple Watch but I do wish the sleep tracker was better.
I love that it’s a smart watch and a analog watch in one.
I was a lazy with my health
I love my HR Sport. The battery life is amazing and the features of it are great. I had an Apple Watch but got so tired of charging it every 2-3 days for 2 years... even with most of the features turned off. And I never used most of the advanced aspects of it anyway. This is simple, easy to use, looks great and a proper watch and the battery life means I’m charging it WAY less often. Once a month! I’d recommend this for anyone that wants to either have a smartwatch but doesn’t need to answer calls on it (which is generally pointless due to back ground noise) or check they’re still alive etc, want s a nice slim good looking watch, and those maybe almost wanting a bit of a tech detox, without going cold turkey! I can track heart rate, walks, runs, cycles. See messages come through and tell the time. I love it!
This is the most beautiful fitness watch I have seen on the market. It was exactly what I was looking for! A classic Rose Gold watch that would record all my fitness needs and I could get wet if I needed too. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a build your own look fitness watch.
Exterior is perfect. Minimalistic beauty. Love the one button. Very suitable for a small wrist. Points of critique are the accuracy of the GPS. Sometimes the heart rate monitor glitches/skips a period of time. For the perfect mix between a health tracker and a fashionable watch, for someone who workes out occasionally, I recommend this very much. For fanatic athletes, I wouldn't recommend.
Wonderful product- have already recommended to friends
Withings sport hr steel is a great looking watch without looking too "tech" just wish the hands were a more contrasting colour to make the time easier to read. The information & accuracy seems very good but high / low heart rate warning would have been nice. Battery life is excellent, overall a great health watch.
A great watch, that monitors your sleep etc, give notifications etc. And more importantly a watch unlike the Apple Watch that actually lasts (battery wise) I personally get at least 20-25 days out of mine before charging. And charging takes no time at all. HIGHLY recommended
Love the look but not at all happy with the step counter. It doesn’t seem to work correctly and doesn’t always sync with my withings scales
My favourite smart watch so far - I've had an apple and Samsung and the popular fitness option.. most of which tend to have excess features that you don't use. This looks lovely, you don't need to rely on battery or the right wrist movement to check the time and it's as close to a 'normal' watch you can get whilst still getting notifications. This is the bit I always want to keep! Very comfortable to wear and it's not bulky at all. Easy to glide jumpers etc. over without tugging. Just a beautiful watch that can tell you all the notifications you want it to!
I love this watch! It was a great purchase and I'm looking to buy this again for my Mum - it's really good value for money, looks great and tracks everything I'd want to in order to improve my health. Only thing I'd say room for improvement on is the sleep tracking (sometimes it doesn't get my timings quite right) but otherwise, this is a truly fantastic watch.
I wanted a smart watch but didn’t find other known brands to be appealing. I love my Withings steel HR watch, the design, the features and the brilliant battery life. I’ve had lots of compliments on my watch.
Steel HR - love it, got tired of replacing FitBit after FitBit after FitBit and am thrilled with the way the Steel HR works, the app is easy to use it looks nice and like a real watch instead of a kid's toy. The waterproof part is a god-send for every day use too and the battery life is amazing
I don't wear a watch because I need one more device to connect me to this already over-connected world. I wear a watch for its looks, and this Steel HR Sport delivers. It actually looks like a real watch, not some consumerist block of tech. With interchangeable bands, this watch will meet all of your needs whether at work, or on your sailboat. The slim design and overall functionality are its most pleasing features. Toss in the fact it is very affordable, and you'll realize you made the right choice in purchasing this watch. Good job, Withings.
I am very happy with the watch after one month no problems it works very well.I would put the bottom dial to better use other than just seeing your step goal also a winder would be better than the press button to scroll through your options.
I needed a watch for my new position which was corporate wear. None of the other watches in the store looked smart or as professional. I also cannot have my mobile phone out at my work, so it’s perfect and discreet, as I can stay informed with notifications. It’s looks great and the battery life is amazing.
I got the watch from my son, as i have problems with my health at my age (88) The watch helps me keep my eye on my heart rate and sleep paterens. My only wee niggle, the hands aren't very readable on the dark face. At least the App is more readable and easier to see.
Let’s face it, the Apple Watch is ugly. Like, really ugly. I was so happy to find the Withings watch! It’s sleek, sexy, I get tons of compliments on it. If you add the leather band it looks like a much more luxurious brand.
I had been wanting to upgrade from the Move watch of which I’ve had 3 due to the long battery life. I finally decided to upgrade and try it. So far so good. I like the watch and charging the battery is no big deal. Charges quick!
Great watch for everyday use and with good functionality monitoring health and sports activities
The Withings watch has the look and feel of a standard watch but it is so much more, it’s Heart rate monitoring is precise, the sleep tracking is very useful as the GPS function makes it excellent for cycling, running and walking with seamless uploads to strava among other tracking apps. On top of all of these features the battery life is superb. You’d be hard pressed to find a better hybrid watch for twice the price.
Extremely good battery life. Only need to charge once in 3 weeks plus. Great at tracking runs and night sleep. Doesn't track naps though. Also, battery life is significantly reduced if using the specific workout feature. Watch looks very stylish and elicits complements from others. Customer service through email is good although turnaround time is always one day. App is easy to use. Bluetooth syncing is seamless and easy.
I've had a Withings watch for years. Primarily purchased because it was much simpler than other fitness type watches on the market at the time but mostly because it looked like a really classy watch that I didn't need to take off in the shower or pool. When that watch grew tired I'm talking years later when the battery had been replaced 8 times I decided to replace. I'm not disappointed. I still wanted the style and waterproofing. I didn't want it to look like a sports watch and didn't want the extra functions it provided to be too obvious or distracting. It's delivered on all levels and I really love it. I'd recommend to any technophobe like myself. It's easy and classy and waterproof what more do you need from a watch...oh it tells the time too!
I love this watch. I had a previous model from withings that just tracked my steps. It was the activities pop. I liked that watch. But I like the steele HR quite a bit better. It feels stronger and more substantial on my wrist. Not really heavy, just a little sturdier. I love the heart rate monitor. The band seems better than the band on my old withings watch which I had to replace several times. I really like this watch a lot and would recommend it to anybody who wants the feature set that this watch offers. Personally, I like the analog dial with just a little screen to give me a little digital information.
Having owned analog smart watches now, from the original Nokia to my new withings I love the look, feel and features, some additional control on the length of time the time display stays on would be great and improve the already good battery life. Some of the assessments of distance and calories burned have to be taken with a pinch of salt, but overall I am very pleased with the watch, and enjoyed the watch for the past 3 + years and many more
This watch is so totally comfortable to wear and very easy to use but apart from that it really LOOKS fabulous - I've had many comments on mine and people are surprised that it's so many other things as well as just a watch. I love it.
